Midlothian, VA Tooth Extraction

Are you worried about a “tooth extraction”? In other words, getting a tooth pulled. Have no fear, those of us at River Run Dental Spa understand that getting a tooth extraction doesn’t sound like the most fun, which is why we put your comfort and priority first in our Midlothian, VA office!

If you are unsure of how the procedure works, you will be numb. This means that one of our dentists will numb up the nerves that directly affect the tooth or teeth that will be worked on by using a local anesthesia. Usually, this can feel a little funny or tingly! This is completely normal and this helps so that during the procedure you don’t feel anything poking or painful. If you know that you are someone who sometimes has a difficult time “getting numb” please do not hesitate to tell the dentist this information. This can be helpful for the dentist to know how much anesthesia will need to be administered. Regardless, we will make certain that you are comfortable and cared for. If at any point during your procedure you have questions, our staff will be more than happy to explain anything!

Following your extraction, we will provide you with post-operative instructions on how to care for the area. You can expect it to be tender for a few days and it may be best to avoid chewing on the extraction site. Typically, soft foods are a safe choice for the next 24-48 hours following a tooth extraction. Any specific instructions and guidelines will be given to you at your appointment.

If you have any questions about a tooth extraction or are hesitant to schedule your extraction appointment, please contact River Run Dental Spa at our Midlothian office. We would be more than happy to provide you with more information regarding the procedure so that you are as prepared and comfortable as possible.
