Dr. Clairise Cash Parker
What is your favorite thing about dentistry?
I love the artistry of dentistry, but my favorite thing would have to be how rewarding and impactful dentistry can be. Being a part of improving my patients’ quality of life, whether I am getting them out of discomfort, improving their self confidence enough to smile big again, or helping them achieve oral health, it is one of the best parts about my job.
If you weren’t a dentist, what would you like to do?
I would either be a florist, which combines my love of flowers and making people smile, or a sommelier, which combines my love of travel, food, and good wine.
How do you stay up to date on the latest dental techniques?
I attend many continuing education courses, read countless journal articles in my free time, and collaborate with my incredible colleagues and specialists in the area.
What charity or organization are you most passionate about supporting?
I am passionate about giving back to the community through dentistry, as I believe it is a responsibility that comes hand in hand with my training as a dentist. I have enjoyed working on Missions of Mercy projects, Remote Area Medical projects, fundraising for The Jamaica Project at VCU, and supporting local free clinics.
What do you want patients to say about their experience with you?
I hope patients come away from our time together feeling at ease with a thorough understanding of their oral health, as well as any proposed treatment. I also hope patients feel excited to tackle their oral health together as a team and can trust I always have their best interest at heart.
