Endodontics

If you’re struggling with pain associated with tooth damage or decay, don’t lose hope – our endodontist at River Run Dental can help. Endodontists are dental specialists who focus on repairing critical tissues inside your tooth. They work to address the causes of tooth pain to provide relief, save your natural tooth whenever possible, and bring your smile back to good health.

Dr. Bala, our compassionate endodontist, has extensive training beyond dental school to become an expert on the nerves, blood vessels and other tissues that make up the tooth “pulp” as well as the tooth root below the gumline. Dr. Bala’s in-depth training allows her to employ advanced techniques to save even severely damaged or decayed teeth.

WHY YOU NEED AN ENDODONTIST

Our Richmond endodontics professionals treat various ailments, including:

  • Tooth decay
  • Tooth injuries
  • Abscesses
  • Tooth cracks

These issues can make you vulnerable to infection inside the tooth or gums, so it’s important to get treatment promptly. The sooner you address the issues, the better your endodontist’s chance of saving your natural tooth.

Only 3% of dentists go on to certify as endodontists. Often known as “root canal dentists,” endodontists are experts at root canals, a procedure that clears the tooth of infected pulp and reseals it to prevent further infection. But their expertise extends beyond the demands of root canals to include endodontic retreatment, surgery, extraction, and dental implants.

If you’re experiencing tooth pain, temperature sensitivity, or swelling around your gums, it might be time to visit your endodontist.

At River Run Dental, we understand that people often feel overwhelmed by the prospect of receiving dental care, which leads to delayed treatment. That’s why we intentionally cultivate a serene and understanding environment that will make you feel comfortable and cared for.

Here’s what to expect when you see our endodontists in Richmond, VA:

  1. Before your visit, our endodontist carefully reviews your complete medical and dental history to develop a comprehensive understanding of your needs.
  2. Next, you’ll visit one of our spa-like dental offices to meet with your care provider to discuss your symptoms and goals. It’s important to let them know if you’re taking any medications or dealing with new conditions that might affect your care.
  3. Finally, your endodontist will complete an examination to assess the condition of your teeth and gums before developing a treatment plan.

If you’re looking for an endodontist near you, look no further than River Run Dental. Located in Richmond, VA, we offer cutting-edge dental care in a compassionate and supportive environment.
